Bob Speers
Bob Speers is an artist from Northern Ireland who encompasses two disciplines: song-writing and fine art. He first exhibited in the Royal Ulster Academy Annual Show in the 1970s. His figurative work later evolved into a land-based genre. By the eighties his paintings were challenging the idea of “progress”. His art draws attention to erosion affecting nature, landscapes and the climate. In 1996 he released the instant classic album "Northland".

“My art is currently informed by habitual wanderings through different levels of moor and bog. Interest lies in the human and weathering imprint, the subtle colours, lines and incisions on its skin."
